Aside from the 8"x8" squares for the blanket, Child's Play is happy to accept any other items you've made. These works of art will be auctioned at the dinner and do not have to be videogame themed or even related (not everyone there may know who Link is, but anyone would like a handmade-with-love scarf in the winter).
When you have an item you'd like to donate for the auction, send it to:
Child's Play
12317 15th Ave NE
Suite 108
Seattle WA 98125
Please include: a note that says the item is for the CP dinner auction, a description of the item, and a little bit about yourself.
ETA: All items for the auction must be received by the last week of November.

Project 1 - The Blanket
To participate in the blanket project, just send me an 8x8 square done in the fiber or fabric medium of your choice:
Crochet

Sewing
Appliqué
Tie-dye
Felt
... or whatever else!
If you have questions or have a square ready to send, please email me: theresab AT gmail (dot) com.
ETA: 8"x8" - I thought I had clarified but apparently I have been thinking about this far too much. :)
How it all began
Some months ago, on the women in game dev elist, we all re-introduced ourselves and ended up breaking off on a tangent about knitting, crocheting, quilting, and all the 'other' creative hobbies we have.
That got me thinking about the Child's Play charity, and I contacted them to see if an item handmade by developers would be appropriate for the auction. It was thought to be a great idea, so I offered to put together a blanket made up of contributed 8x8 squares - that project quickly escalated into having developers make unique items in their crafts to donate.
